Waistcoat for man made in satin and linen, with crew-neck. Floral and vegetal ornamentation in silk, embroidered in thread of different colours; it covers the chest along the buttons and buttonholes. Both front pieces are decorated with a variety of vegetal posies. It has two pockets whose decoration matches the former; in each of them there is a pinkish snake, which possibly means some relationship of the owner to the field of medicine. Eight of the ten buttons are original, whereas the sixth and tenth ones are signed *SOLIDE* C. W. & Co, the same brand we can see on the buckle in the back, which girds the waist of the garment. There are some old stains on the armpits and chest, owed to use. The piece keeps its lining. There are many Spanish portraits from the time of king Charles IV where the clothing of the period can be studied and compared. Good general condition.
